Tommy Ray Thomas
Feb. 21, 1948 - March 28, 2015 Tommy Ray Thomas, age 67, of Cahaba Heights passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Tommy graduated from Shades Valley High School in 1967 and was also a graduate of Jacksonville State University where he received a BA degree in Theology. Tommy was a member of Cahaba Heights UMC. He enjoyed serving as director of a men's prison ministry of Birmingham, AL for 15 years. He has been a real estate agent for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Rose Thomas. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Brenda Massey Thomas; daughters, Aime Newman and Sonya Carmichael; father, James T. Thomas; granddaughter, Laura Sullivan and two great grandchildren, Delilah and Wyatt; he also leaves behind many other relatives including: Frank and Joan Carruba; the Magone family; Frank and Kay Guarino, Marijo Guarino, Darryl and Tonya Guarino; many nieces and nephews; also including:, Melissa Rich, Kim McKinney and Cindy Carruba; special friends: Ron and Kim Kilgo, Susan McGee, the Bradford family, Kathy and Steve Daughtery, Jack and Marlin Brasher and many others. The funeral for Tommy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1st at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Pastor Rusty Glasgow and David Bradford are officiating.
